DMV Posts Mobile Services Calendar Online
Find Out When DMV 2 Go Will Be Open For Business Near You
RICHMOND - You can now access the DMV 2 Go calendar online. DMV 2 Go is the Department of Motor Vehicle's newest outreach program. DMV has a fleet of customer service centers on wheels. DMV 2 Go mobile provides all DMV transactions and travels across Virginia visiting a variety of locations including military bases, assisted living facilities, college and corporate campuses, and rural areas where customers would otherwise have to drive more than 30 miles to get to a full-service DMV customer service center.
Inside the handicapped-accessible full service office on wheels, you can apply for and renew your driver's license or ID card, road and knowledge tests are available, and applicants may get their pictures taken. Customers can order disabled parking placards or plates and get vehicle titles, license plates and decals. If Virginians have recently moved, they can stop in to update their addresses on their DMV record and also update voter registration information and organ donor status. Customers can search for other state services through a wireless Virginia Internet portal.
This program continues to grow in popularity and visit more sites, and now Virginians can access the calendar online to find out when DMV 2 Go will be open for business near them. The calendar is available through the DMV 2 Go page on DMV's website www.dmvNOW.com. Click on DMV 2 Go under citizen services, and you will see the link to the monthly calendar, which is updated on a regular basis. Be sure to check the calendar frequently as DMV staff add more visits.
"Every time we visit a new site, customers ask us when we are going to be back," says DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "This new public calendar will allow Virginians to find out when DMV 2 Go will be in their area, so they can plan to do DMV business at a time and place convenient to them."
