DMV to Sell Fishing Licenses at the Virginia Fly Fishing Festival
All DMV Services Available During Event
RICHMOND - The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' mobile customer service center, called DMV 2 Go, will be open for business at the Virginia Fly Fishing Festival on April 21 and 22 on the banks of the South River in Waynesboro. DMV services will be available Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thanks to a new partnership with the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF), DMV customers can now buy fishing and hunting licenses and temporary boat registrations at any DMV customer service center, including the mobile offices. "We are always looking for better ways to make government services even more accessible to customers," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "With so many avid fishermen attending the Virginia Fly Fishing Festival, we are bringing DMV to them making it convenient to purchase fishing licenses on the spot."
DMV 2 Go is equipped with the latest wireless technology to accomplish the needed connection to DMV's computer systems. The wireless capability allows the mobile office to provide secure service at virtually any location. The full service mobile office provides all DMV transactions.
If in need of a driver's license, ID card or other DMV services, customers are encouraged to research and bring the proper documents to complete their transactions by using the interactive document guide at www.dmvNOW.com.
