DMV Mobile Office to Serve Radford and Surrounding Community
DMV 2 Go to Visit College for the First Time
RICHMOND-The Department of Motor Vehicles' (DMV) mobile customer service center, called DMV 2 Go, is making its debut at Radford University offering another convenient method for students, faculty and staff, and other nearby residents to do their DMV business. DMV 2 Go will be open for business on Monday, April 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 801 East Main Street.
The handicapped-accessible full service office can provide all DMV transactions including driver's licenses and ID cards, disabled parking placards, vehicle titles, license plates and decals. In addition, if Virginians have recently moved, which is often the case in a college community, they can stop in to update their address on their DMV record, and also update their voter registration address and organ donor status.
DMV 2 Go has been traveling across Virginia visiting other university and college campuses, assisted living facilities, businesses and military bases. The mobile office has already had success serving customers on the campuses of Old Dominion, George Mason, Virginia Union, and Norfolk State Universities.
"We're excited to launch this convenient service at Radford University," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "Our goal with this program is to bring DMV services directly to today's busy Virginians at locations convenient to them."
When visiting college campuses in the past, two of the most popular transactions include Virginia ID cards and personalized license plates. DMV also offers a Radford University special license plate. Thanks to a recent partnership with the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, you can also now purchase hunting and fishing licenses on the mobile office.
Anyone from the university or surrounding community is welcome.
