DMV 2 Go Continues Partnership with Reston Town Center
Mobile Office Dedicated to Northern Virginia Provides All DMV Services
RICHMOND - DMV's mobile customer service center called DMV 2 Go will be open for business at the Reston Town Center on Wednesday, July 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The mobile office will be parked at the Pavilion at the Reston Town Center located at 11900 Market Street, Reston, VA, 20190.
The handicapped-accessible full service office provides all DMV transactions including applying for and renewing driver's licenses and ID cards. Road and knowledge tests are available, and applicants may complete vision screenings and get their pictures taken. Customers can order disabled parking placards or plates, and get vehicle titles, license plates and decals. If Virginians have recently moved, they can stop in to update their addresses on their DMV record, and also update their voter registration and organ donor information.
DMV 2 Go is equipped with the latest wireless technology to accomplish the needed connection to DMV's computer systems. The wireless capability allows the units to provide secure service at virtually any location.
"We visited Reston Town Center for the first time in March with great success," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "DMV 2 Go served dozens of customers, conducting nearly 100 transactions. We are excited to return and debut our newest mobile office, which will be dedicated to serving locations in Northern Virginia."
A ribbon-cutting event celebrating the new DMV mobile office and regular service at Reston Town Center will be held at 11:00 a.m. A number of local legislators and other dignitaries are slated to attend.
