May Event will Celebrate 15 Years of Service at Stuart DMV Select
DMV Mobile Office Continues Supplemental Service in 2013
RICHMOND - The Stuart DMV Select is celebrating a milestone. This year marks 15 years of service for office located at 106 Rucker Street in the Patrick County Administration building. The DMV Select is operated by the County Administrator Tom Rose. A flag presentation ceremony to celebrate the 15-year anniversary will be held on Thursday, May 2 at 10 a.m. A number of legislators and local dignitaries are expected to attend.
Stuart is one of 57 DMV Selects throughout the state that provide an alternative to visiting a full-service DMV customer service center. DMV Selects process mostly vehicle transactions and are in convenient locations where customers may otherwise have to drive long distances to get to a DMV customer service center.
"From Patrick County, the closest full service DMV is in Martinsville, at least a 30 minute drive for some residents, so having the DMV Select office in a rural area like Stuart is a wonderful asset," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb.
To further enhance that customer service, the Stuart DMV Select has partnered with the DMV mobile office, called DMV 2 Go, to offer driver's license and identification card transactions to customers on a regular basis. DMV 2 Go complements services already provided by the Stuart DMV Select. The full service office provides all DMV transactions including applying for and renewing driver''s licenses and ID cards including Virginia''s veteran ID card. Road and knowledge tests are available, and applicants may get their pictures taken. The DMV 2 Go mobile office has scheduled visits to the Stuart DMV Select on April 30, July 30, and October 29, 2013.
The mobile office partnership will continue quarterly throughout 2013 with the next visits slated for April 30, July 30 and October 29 2013.
