DMV Mobile Office Returns to University of Virginia
Ribbon-Cutting Planned to Celebrate UVA-DMV Partnership
RICHMOND - The Department of Motor Vehicles' (DMV) mobile customer service center, called DMV 2 Go, is returning to the University of Virginia offering another convenient method for students, faculty and staff to take care of their DMV business. DMV 2 Go will be open on Thursday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the T4 parking lot at Scott Stadium, 1815 Stadium Road, Charlottesville, VA 22911. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. to celebrate the successful partnership between the University and DMV. A number of legislators and University officials are slated to attend.
"Our mobile office partnership with the University of Virginia highlights a number of visits we have scheduled to colleges and universities throughout the Commonwealth to greet new students and serve existing students, faculty, and staff," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "Our goal with this program is to bring DMV services directly to today's busy Virginians at locations convenient to them."
DMV 2 Go is a handicapped-accessible full-service office that provides all DMV transactions including driver's licenses and ID cards, disabled parking placards, vehicle titles, license plates and decals. In addition, customers who have recently moved, which is often the case on college campuses, can update their address on their DMV record, and also update their voter registration address and organ donor status. Thanks to a partnership with the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, customers can also purchase hunting and fishing licenses on the mobile office.
