Request a PIN
You may obtain a Personal Identification Number (PIN) using one of the following methods:
- By Phone - Call DMV Direct at (804) 497-7100 and DMV will issue your PIN over the phone during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., and Saturday, 8:00a.m. - noon).
- By Mail - Provide your Customer Number and Date of Birth online and DMV will mail a PIN to you within 3 business days of your request.
Activate a PIN
If you have a temporary PIN that you have received from DMV you may activate it now to begin using many of our secure transactions online or via the phone.
